Job Description The Director of Marketing Services directs and oversees strategic, integrated marketing work done by the Office of University Communications (OUC) on behalf of campus partners to support and promote their goals and the goals of the University.
The Director of Marketing Services serves as the University's chief marketing officer with a particular focus on student recruitment and reputational enhancement.
The Director of Marketing Services oversees four senior associate directors of marketing within the Office of University Communications.
The Director is also the primary liaison to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, and Carroll School of Management.
She/he works with deans, associate deans, and senior administrators to create high-level, innovative marketing communications activities that support the University, its school and colleges and administrative departments.
The Director works with the AVP of University Communications on special projects that promote Boston College and serves on the AVP's senior leadership team.
She/he also manages the office's nearly $1 million marketing budget.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range:
$132,450 to $165,550; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements Undergraduate degree.
Twelve plus years of experience in marketing and communications and experience managing personnel required.
The ideal candidate has strong marketing, writing and editing skills, integrity, discretion, negotiation skills, and creativity as well as the ability to:
develop strong collaborative partnerships with faculty and administrators and to earn trust within an organization, lead and inspire individuals and teams, and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
She/he should understand marketing principles and use of market research, communications vehicles, and creative elementsEURincluding design, photography, and social mediaEURand how to apply each to address relevant higher education marketing/communications issues.
Preferred:
Graduate degree in business or communications.
An appreciation for the Jesuit Catholic educational mission of Boston College is a plus.
