Under general direction of the Director of Benefits, the Benefits Consultant oversees all retirement programs and benefits. Analyzes and develops policies relating to Retirement Program administration. Drives the development of Retirement Program strategy for Atrius Health. Makes recommendations for changes to retirement programs in light of mergers/acquisitions, emerging legislation and/or business trends. Manages the integration/consolidation of retirement plans for mergers/acquisitions. Ensures retirement programs comply with all federal and state legal and regulatory requirements. Evaluates retirement plan systems and processes; identifies areas for continuous improvement, and implements appropriate changes. Develops and oversees retirement plan communications. Manages relationship with retirement vendor(s). Reports to the Director of Benefits.
Education. Bachelor degree in Business/Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent education, training or experience) required. Masters degree preferred. CBP (Certified Benefits Professional) preferred.
Skills and Experience. Experience typically acquired through at least five years experience in employee retirement plan administration. Solid understanding of principles related to retirement plan design and administration required. Must have experience managing audits and timely regulatory filings. Must have understanding of laws impacting benefit programs - HIPAA, ERISA, IRS regulations, etc. Excellent time management skills required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Proven ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations required. Must possess strong public speaking skills and the ability to explain the various retirement plans clearly and concisely. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required. Must be capable of prioritizing and meeting tight deadlines. Must be highly detail oriented.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
