Accounting Manager

At this time, we are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team!
Responsible for the ownership of all month-end close processes for their portfolio of communities including the analysis of financial results, as well as ownership of consolidated SME areas
Specific monthly responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Detailed review and analysis of community level income statements, including coordination and continuous communication with community and operations leadership on status of the close, results of financial analysis and other accounting and financial support
Detailed review of community level balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and accrued liabilities
Responsible as SME for the monthly close and reporting of consolidated balance sheet and income statement level accounts
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
As it relates to their portfolio and SME areas, assist Accounting senior leadership and Internal Audit with compliance related matters including year-end audit support and compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)
Guide and train accounting staff on all day-to-day accounting related matters, and participate in developing trainings for the full Accounting department, other cross functional groups (e.g. payroll, accounts payable, etc.) as well as for the communities and other operational groups
Observing core day-to-day functions and assisting Accounting senior leadership with proposing and executing process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiencies
Responsible for relevant technical accounting research and drafting accounting treatment position papers for review by Accounting senior leadership
Provide assistance to tax department on certain tax provision and compliance matters

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
